Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to visit?
Admission is free! Your visit can include the museum, post office, philatelic store, and library.
Please consider making a monetary donation or becoming a National Postal Education Center member. Membership dues, donations, and other forms of support help us continue our educational programs and care for our library, archives, museum, and historic facility.
How do I get there?
We are located in Tucson’s historic West University neighborhood, just southwest of the Speedway Boulevard and Euclid Avenue intersection.
Although our building is located on 1st Avenue, this section of 1st Avenue is the smaller continuation south of Speedway after the main roadway becomes Euclid Avenue.
The driveway leading to the rear parking lot is on the south side of the building. It is a single-lane driveway, so please drive carefully.
From the parking lot, enter through the courtyard to access the main building and Slusser Library.
What accommodations are available for people with disabilities?
The Slusser Library provides the most seating and space for wheelchairs and walkers to maneuver, as well as our most wheelchair-accessible restroom. The main building has less seating but can accommodate walkers and wheelchairs in most areas. Because of the stamp-processing workstations, maneuvering space is more limited in portions of the main building.
The street entrance to the main building has ramp access, and the courtyard entrance is primarily level. The facility does not have automatic doors.
Anything else to know before visiting?
If you are arriving with a group larger than four people, please contact us in advance. We may not have staff or volunteers available to provide a guided tour without advance notice.
Please consult our calendar before your visit, regardless of party size. The library is closed to regular visitors on school field trip days, and scheduled tours or other programs may affect access to portions of the facility.
