National Postal Education Center

Our services

The National Postal Education Center serves the community through educational programs and resources, a philatelic library, archives and museum, a philatelic store, and a contract post office.

Education & Outreach

The Stamp Discovery Education Program supports educators, parents, students, scouts, organizations, and the community through free and nominally priced educational services and resources.

Library & Archives

Our premiere Slusser Library holds more than 30,000 titles, primarily related to stamp collecting and postal history. Our archives also contain extensive research materials documenting philately and postal history.

Philatelic Store

Our philatelic store supports collectors, strengthens the hobby of philately, and provides funding that helps support our programs and services.

Cultural Exhibits

The Center welcomes both in-person and online visitors to explore our physical and digital exhibits, covering topics ranging from Arizona Territorial postal history to modern-day postage stamps.

On-site experience

Guided tours of the facility include our exhibits as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the work our volunteers do to process thousands of postage stamps.

Contract Post Office

There’s rarely a line at our post office! Our Contract Postal Unit provides convenient postal services and offers a wide selection of current U.S. postage stamps.

What is my stamp worth?

(And other important questions!)

We’ve compiled a list of our Frequently Asked Questions to help you navigate the world of philately.

Including how to pronounce philately.

And what philately means.

Who are the Arizona Philatelic Rangers?

Founded in 1960 alongside the Postal History Foundation (then known as the Western Postal History Museum), the Arizona Philatelic Rangers were organized as an independent sponsoring society to help finance and staff the museum.

The accomplishments of the museum were also the successes of the Rangers. There’s no doubt that the Rangers’ early support and fundraising activities played a significant role in the growth, stability, and success of the Western Postal History Museum.

The Rangers remain an important philatelic organization and meet regularly at stamp shows around the nation.
